The German Oceanographic Museum in Stralsund is the biggest scientific museum on the German North and Baltic Sea coast and it is unique in Germany. It is one of the 20 most significant cultural institutions in the former East German states. With more than one million visitors per year the German Oceanographic Museum with its four branches belongs to Germany’s five most visited museums.
